Term paper with oral presentation (lecture) on the topic of the term paper (6 CP)




Expected prior knowledge:

Introduction to Finance, Capital Markets and Valuation and Corporate Financial Management




Examination requirements:


  • Demonstration of the ability to independently identify and formulate research questions in the form of specific guiding questions within a defined area of finance.

  • Demonstration of the ability to answer these key questions clearly and scientifically accurately, and to communicate these answers clearly and comprehensibly.






Qualification objectives/skills

Upon successful completion of the module, students will have acquired the following skills:

  • they will be able to independently research a limited topic area of finance using scientific methods and communicate the knowledge they have acquired in writing and orally,

  • they are able to make a qualified assessment of problem contexts in a limited area of finance,

  • they can participate in a discussion initiated by presentations with their own qualified contributions.






Seminar content:

The seminar serves to analyze, present, and discuss selected research questions in finance based on independent work by the students (written and oral).

Students typically analyze research papers written in English (articles from academic journals or book chapters) that address various but thematically related issues in finance. The overarching theme of the seminar (and thus also the underlying journal articles or book chapters) may change from semester to semester.
