The DFG Project „Sensing the soil“ is a collaboration between the research groups of Dr. Levintal, Israel, and Prof. Freudiger within the DFG program Middle East Collaboration, featuring a joint research program and field measurements.

DFG project WiCoTrAir: Near ground wind field measurement and wind-induced tree responses in complex forested terrain using air pressure measurements
Near-ground pressure fluctuations provide information about the wind fields above forest stands. The exact relationships are, on the one hand, still unclear; on the other hand, however, they represent an easily accessible source of information for investigating and potentially predicting wind influence on trees and their responses (ranging from tree movement to storm damage).
