N_Wind WaldMethan (1)

WINDWALDMETHAN

Well-ventilated forest soils represent the largest global terrestrial sink for the potent greenhouse gas CH4. In previous scientific work, we have shown that CH4 uptake by forest soils is limited by the transport of atmospheric CH4 into the soil.

N_SAMS (1)

SAMS – SOILS AS METHANE SINKS

Forest soils as the most important terrestrial sink for atmospheric methane in climate change: a threatened climate service of forest soils? Unwetted, well-aerated natural forest soils represent the most important global terrestrial sink for atmospheric CH4.
