Dr. Doreen Schachtschabel

Vice President, White Biotechnology R&D, BASF SE, Ludwigshafen, Germany

Dr. Doreen Schachtschabel studied Chemistry at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Germany. During her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology of Jena, Germany, she studied the apocarotenoids as signalling compounds in Zygomycetes. For her postdoctoral time she joined, first, the Dept. of Bioorganic Chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology of Jena and then the Dept. of Molecular Microbiology & Biotechnology of the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. At the University of Leiden, she studied the cell wall biosynthesis in A. niger for anti fungal target identification.

She is the Vice President of White Biotechnology R&Dm BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
