SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My work at the Duke Eye Center contributed to my interest in the study of glia and their role in CNS development, which I would like to continue pursuing in my graduate studies. In particular, I want to investigate the role of glia in the context of disorders such as depression and ASD, and how genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development of these conditions.
