SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

From simple neural network in sponges to the sophisticated mammalian brain, all information is coordinated and combined through an intricate system of neurons. My curiosity lies in understanding the underlying mechanisms of information flow in the neural circuits and their regulation through processes like synaptic efficacy and plasticity, synaptogenesis. I am also interested in the factors being governed by circuits to regulate processes like learning, memory, sleep regulation, periodicity of circadian rhythms resulting in orchestration of complex behaviours like communication.
