Cooperations
The Chair has extensive experience in policy advice and in establishing partnerships with political stakeholders at all levels of government. International cooperation includes taking a leading role in research networks, for example in the founding of the international journal ‘Forest Policy & Economics’ or collaboration with the IUFRO Division on Forest Policy and Governance, which led to international conferences in Indonesia.

Actor Influence on National FSC Standard-Setting: A Cross-Country ComparisonCase Study: Germany, Brazil, and the United States
As part of two master's theses, the country-specific FSC certification standards (Germany, Brazil, USA) are compared and the influence of various stakeholder groups (companies, environmental organizations, trade unions, among others) on national standard-setting is examined. The findings will contribute to the evaluation of the FSC certification of the Hessian state forest (in cooperation with HessenForst).
Methodology: Document analysis and expert interviews. Portuguese language skills are an advantage but not required.
