The University of Göttingen does not tolerate any form of discrimination. It protects its members and affiliates as well as third parties from any form of discrimination in its area of responsibility and punishes offences.

If you have experienced or observed discrimination at the University of Göttingen, we will not leave you alone. You have the right to seek counselling. The basis for this is the Directive on the Prevention of and Protection against Discrimination (DiskSchutz-RL) of the University of Göttingen (excluding University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG)). The University should be a place characterised by a climate of acceptance, trust and respectful interaction. All members and affiliates should be able to study, teach, research and work here successfully, regardless of their background and life situation.

The University of Göttingen has its own support services and its own policy on sexual harassment and violence.
