Thank you for your enthusiastic and active participation in the university-wide day on AI in Teaching and Learning (KI:SL).
The event gave teaching staff and students the opportunity to explore the possibilities and limitations of using AI in teaching and learning. Hands-on talks, workshops and information stands demonstrated how AI tools can be used in academic contexts – from supporting academic work and creative applications to questions of ethics and institutional integration.
Interest in the programme was remarkably high: one talk had to be held a second time spontaneously because the room could not accommodate the demand.
The day concluded with the keynote by Prof. Dr. Doris Weßels and a panel discussion entitled "The Future of Higher Education: Teaching and Learning with, despite, or precisely because of AI?", in which experts from various fields engaged in a lively and at times controversial debate about the future of higher education.

About the Event
The university-wide AI in Studies and Teaching Day (KI:SL) offers a unique opportunity, to explore the possibilities and limits of using AI in teaching and learning. Anhand von Praxisbeispielen zeigen wir in Hands-on-Vorträgen, Workshops und an Info-Ständen, wie KI-Tools und innovative Konzepte Studium und Lehre bereichern können.
Die Veranstaltung bietet zudem Raum für offenen Austausch zu Erfahrungen, Perspektiven und Bedenken – the active participation of students and teaching staff is explicitly encouraged. Regular classes on 21 April 2026 will therefore not take place.
