Content
Design-oriented research (Design Science Research) in Information Systems deals with the design, implementation, and evaluation of so-called IT artifacts (constructs, models, methods, and instantiations) in real-world contexts. Within the framework of a pragmatic and rigorous research process, real-world problems in business practice are analyzed, structured, and solved through the development and use of IT artifacts in context in iterative cycles. At the same time, abstracted, generalized knowledge about a class of IT artifacts is generated and validated. The subject of the seminar is doctoral training in the design-oriented research paradigm (Design Science Research). Participants learn how to plan and conduct design-oriented research projects as well as techniques for the successful publication of design-oriented research results.
