About the series of events (2012-2023)

For more than 10 years (winter semester 12/13 - winter semester 22/23), the event series "'All Equally Different!?' - Diversity in Theory and Practice" offered students the opportunity to deal in depth with topics related to diversity and discrimination in science and society within the framework of annual focal events (lectures, specialist days, workshops...), both with a focus on the exploration of possible professional fields of activity and on possibilities for intervention and becoming active oneself. Specific diversity dimensions, such as disability, social origin, racialisation and gender, were also taken into account.

Since the winter semester 2014/15, funding has been provided through study quality funds. The great positive response to the events confirms that the topic of diversity is highly relevant in terms of social and higher education policy and that there is a great need for information.

Over the years, under the leadership of the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit colleagues from various areas such as the Gender Studies team, the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit, the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute, the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Sciences (GGG), the Central Institutions for Teacher Education and for Languages and Key Qualifications (ZEWIL, ZESS), the Institute of Educational Science and, in cooperation, from the Diversity Network at Thuringian Universities, the Thuringian Competence Network for Gender Equality and the Equal Opportunities Office of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main have worked on the series.
