Alumni Career Forum
The Alumni Career Forum offers current program members a unique opportunity to connect with alumni who have pursued diverse career paths, both within and beyond academia. It is also a space for alumni to reconnect with current and former colleagues, share experiences, and exchange ideas about career development.
The 2.5-hour event is organized around 8 thematic clusters, each representing a distinct professional field. Within each cluster, there will be four 30-minute sessions, with 10-minute breaks between sessions to allow participants to move between clusters.
- Cluster A: Manager, non-R&D
- Cluster B: Manager, R&D
- Cluster C: Staff/Senior Scientist – Industry
- Cluster D: Academia – Professor, Group Leader, Staff Scientist
- Cluster E: Consultant, Staff non-R&D
- Cluster F: Self-Employment, IT/Software Developer, Patent Attorney
- Cluster G: Science Manager, Medical Writer, Editor, Publisher
- Cluster H: Academia – Postdoctoral Researcher (advanced; PhD completed in 2023 or earlier)
Each session will be chaired by one of our alumni. It will begin with two 3-minute alumni pitch talks, followed by an open discussion focused on career-related topics relevant to that field.
Participants are free to choose whether they stay within one cluster for the duration of the Alumni Career Forum or explore several clusters. Alumni participating in a given cluster are also encouraged to move between clusters, provided each session remains adequately staffed to ensure engaging and meaningful discussions.
