Scholarly journals and newspapers as networks of knowledge during the Enlightenment as a new long-term project at the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Göttingen

At the beginning of the year the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Göttingen began a long-term project that will tackle the task of indexing the enormous amount of scholarly journals of the Enlightenment period. This task will be carried out in close cooperation with the SUB (State and University Library in Göttingen). A data base system will allow access to scholars researching the Enlightenment period. University professors Gerhard Lauer (German Studies) and Thomas Kaufmann (Church History) are in charge of the project.
