The provision of the data by you is completely voluntary concerning the application. Within the application process, the provision of data is compulsive as long as you do not withdraw your application.

Collection of the personal data is necessary in order to conduct the selection procedure for the M.Sc. Applied Computer Science and is legally based on your informed consent pursuant to Art. 6 Section 1 Subsection 1 lit. a GDPR), and, in case of a successful enrollment, § 17 Section 1 of the Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz (NHG) and the Regulation on Students’ and Applicants’ Data by the University of Goettingen (PersDatO). Anonymised data is used for statistical analysis and evaluation. Legal basis is Art. 6 Section 1 Subsection 1 lit. f GDPR.

The personal data will be processed and transmitted to the following recipients: The Selection Committee for Applied Computer Science and all personnel within the University of Göttingen, who assist the Selection Committee for Applied Computer Science in conducting the selection, admission and – if applicable – enrollment procedure. This includes for example personnel responsible for the bureaucratic and technical administration of the selection procedure and the admission, personnel responsible for the technical administration of the online aptitude test, personnel conducting the personal interviews, personnel responsible for enrollment and personnel responsible for supporting and advising prospective Master students.

If it is intended to process the personal data for a purpose other than that for which they were originally collected, the University of Göttingen will inform about this other purpose and all other relevant information available to the person concerned prior to such further processing.

The data collected is to be stored by the Selection Committee for Applied Computer Science for 6 months in order to provide legal evidence. After this time the data will be anonymised or erased. Wherever and whenever possible, the data will be anonymised.

The data subject has a right to access to the personal data concerning him or her and, where appropriate, a right to rectification, a right to erasure or a right to restriction of processing of such data and a right to object the processing. Within the scope of public services, there is no right to data portability (Art. 20 Section 3 Subsection 2 GDPR).

As far as the data processing is based on your consent, you have the right to revoke the consent at any time. The data processing carried out up to then remains legal, the revocation is only valid for the future. In this case your data will be deleted immediately.

The data subject has a right of appeal to a data protection authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR. Competent legal body for the University of Göttingen is:
