How to get here?


Travelling by train to Göttingen:
Göttingen is on the Intercity Express (ICE) North-South route between Hamburg, Bremen and Berlin in the North, and Frankfurt and Munich in the South. Current train times can be found here: Deutsche Bahn.

...continuing by taxi:
The station has two exits and both have taxi stands. A taxi ride to the Dept. of Bioclimatology takes about 12 minutes.

...continuing by bus:
Exit at the front of the station, direction city centre. The bus station is ca. 100 m to the right of the station. Take the number 21, 22 or 23 bus from this stop in the direction Faßberg.
Get out after about 15 minutes at the stop Burckhardtweg. From this stop go back about 30 m and turn left onto the road leading to the department. Follow the road till the largest building (Büsgenweg 2). The Dept. of Bioclimatology is located at the 5th floor (top floor).

Traveling by car:
If you are coming on the A7 Autobahn, exit at Göttingen Nord (junction 72), and continue to the end of the Autobahn access road (go east). At the large junction with traffic lights (speed cameras!) go straight on along the B27 direction Braunlage/Duderstadt. After passing 2 pedestrian crossings (speed cameras!) you leave Göttingen and after 1-2 km you come to a traffic light (a restaurant is on the right). Turn left in direction Faßberg/Nikolausberg. Continue up the hill, and take the second left, then after 30 m left again into Burkhardtweg. Take the second left into the parking lot. From there walk to the largest building (Büsgenweg 2). The Dept. of Bioclimatology is located at the 5th floor (top floor).


Traveling by plane:
The nearest airport to Göttingen is Hannover-Langenhagen (ca. 120 km). A train connection takes you to Hannover main station (line S5, every 30 minutes; takes 12 minutes), where you can get on an Intercity express (ICE) train to Göttingen. Another option is the Frankfurt/Main airport (ca. 250 km). There is a direct ICE connection to Göttingen. The trip with the ICE takes about 2 hours.
