Nathalia Louruz de Mello, B.A.

Nathalia Louruz de Mello is a Master student of the Post-Graduation in Social Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Porto Alegre (PUCRS), Brazil. Her master project deals with the migration of women from Portuguese-speaking African nations to Southern Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hermílio Santos (PUCRS). Her research includes the educational trajectory of African women who experienced migration to Southern Brazil questioning how they can be empowered through their education and how this is related to gender-based inequalities. She is a member of the research Group in Biographical Narratives led by Prof. Dr. Hermílio Santos at PUCRS. In the context of the activities of the Center of Methods in Social Sciences (MZS), Nathalia collaborates conducting interviews with migrants from the African continent in Southern Brazil. Her research interests include biographical research and gender and migration.
