Network drive internal access

When you log in, you are automatically connected (if requested by the department) to various network drives.

Drive "P:" is your personal folder to which only you have access.
Drive "X:" is for file exchange (eXchange) within the department.
Drive "L:" is set up for data transfer from laboratory computers.

These folders are stored on servers of the GWDG.

Recover deleted data
The server data is backed up every night, so even if your computer fails or you accidentally delete a file, it can be restored.

You can restore lost folders or files yourself using the "Shadow Copies" function: right-click on the parent folder and select the "Previous Versions" tab. Here you will find a list of times when a (shadow) copy of the data was created. Simply double-click on the folder of the desired time and the content will be displayed in a new window of the file explorer!
