PhD students of the five faculties of the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Science/ Göttinger Graduiertenschule Gesellschaftswissenschaften (GGG), PhD-Candidates of the Graduate School of Humanities Göttingen and members of the Schlözer-PhD-Program might participate too.

Seminar’s objectives:
• How is success defined?
• What are the factors which lead to becoming a successful individual as well as to being a successful team?
• How does one motivate others?
• How does one keep oneself motivated when facing such barriers or challenges as a loss of self-confidence?
These questions will be addressed in an effort to build a firm foundation in the quest for personal success. Current "success models" will be discussed and relevant factors will be analyzed.
The aim of this course is to help PhD students become competent in their abilities to assess motivation using both a scientific as well as a practical approach within the context of their studies and their professions.

Credits: 2 Credits
Demands: complete and active participation; participation in practical exercises and role play, reflection between the events, presentation of the results, not graded.
