Professor Dr. Hans Lemmel (1946-57) and Professor Dr. Gerhard Speidel (1957-65) head the department during this time, where forest business economics, forest administration and forest politics are still institutionally combined.

Three years after the call of Professor Dr. Karl Hasel (1963-74) forest business economics becomes independent under the lead of Professor Dr. Dietrich Mülder (1966-1974). Forest politics is combined with the institute of forest history and nature conservation. Until 1987 timber markets is also located in this institute while macro economics is being read by agricultural economist Professor Dr. Carsten Thoroe.
