Semester fees are imposed for studying. The payment is required for enrolment to the University and for the renewal of your enrolment into the following semester.

Semester fees for the winter semester 2012/13
totals 735,22 Euro.

Semester fees for the summer semester 2013
totals 741,46 Euro.

Exceptions: Special regulations apply for prolonged studies and students over 60 years of age, for students who are following a course of study which requires a fee, as well as for guest listeners and students of doctoral programmes (for details see "legal regulations").

The semester fees are comprised of administration costs, a student body fee (including the semester ticket), a Studentenwerk fee and the tuition (500 Euro), which was implemented by the state of Lower Saxony beginning with the winter semester 2006/2007. Students of prolonged studies (if regular amount of allotted semesters has been exceeded by four semesters) pay a fee for long-running studies (600 – 800 Euro) instead of the semester fee.
