PhD position in the field of climate modelling

Upon funding approval the position is to be filled at the earliest possible (presumably 15th of June 2011)

Salary: 50% of EG13 TV-L
Duration: 3 years

Tasks:

• Implementation and validation of a hierarchical model chain
• Investigation of different nesting strategies
• Analysis and modelling of present and future climate variability in southern Amazonia

Requirements:

• Master or Diploma degree in meteorology or related fields
• Experience in numerical geophysical models and codes (FORTRAN on UNIX platforms).
