Research interests
My research focuses on wildfire management in savanna ecosystems: linking soil nutrient availability with livelihood systems of the people. In my previous and current research, I investigate how bushfire affects carbon dynamics, invertebrate populations and microbial activity on nutrient cycling. I am also working on quantifying greenhouse gas fluxes from bushfires and investigating the perceptions of local communities of bushfire impacts on the sustainability of ecosystem services. My research works are in western and central Burkina Faso, and funded by the "Livelihood, Management, Reforms and Processes of Structural Change" program of the Volkswagen Foundation.
