Preparation of a decision regarding the implementation of buses with alternative and environmentally friendly drivetrain technologies. For this purpose the technological and economical potentials in the region of Göttingen were analyzed and evaluated.

The existing bus network is analyzed as a starting point. The existing infrastructure (bus stations, electricity network connection) as well as the routes and timetables are examined. Based on this, the available battery buses, hybrid trolley buses, plug-in hybrid buses and fuel cell buses are identified. Subsequently, the available buses and technologies will be analysed with regards to their technical applications in Göttingen. The economic aspects, within the scope of the technical possibilities, are examined by means of a TCO analysis.
