Bernstein Center for
Computational Neuroscience Göttingen

The Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) Göttingen is an interdisciplinary research center focusing on the exploration of the dynamics and adaptivity of the nervous system. It unites researchers in the fields of biology, physics, computer science, psychology, and medicine at the Göttingen Campus.

Its mission is to promote joint research initiatives in computational neuroscience through collaborations between theoreticians and experimentalists. Since its foundation in 2004, the BCCN Göttingen has been committed to foster a new generation of scientists that feel equally at home in theoretical as well as in experimental neurosciences, in particular through its PhD program Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience.

In close collaboration with the newly founded Campus Institute for Dynamics of Biological Networks (CIDBN) the BCCN organizes joint activities like seminars, workshops, tutorials, etc., serving as platforms for scientific exchange and collaborations in the neuroscience and data science communities.

The BCCN Göttingen is currently involved in various research initiatives and programs:
