Research interests

Development, education, health, poverty and inequality with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa: More information

Why did you apply for the fellowship?

My research and interests connect very strongly with the work and legacy of Stephan Klasen, and this fellowship allows me to contribute to this legacy. Furthermore, Göttingen is one of the leading development economics hubs in Europe and globally, thanks to Stephan Klasen. I believe this fellowship provides an opportunity for me to create meaningful networks and partnerships that would be vital for my career.

What would you like to achieve during the course of the fellowship?

First, I would like to finalize my PhD chapters for submission to economics journals. I will also use the opportunity to start new projects and collaborations.

Göttingen at first (and second) sight?

Excellent faculty, amazing and very motivated colleagues. The city is small but very beautiful and clean, with amazing nature (forest, lake) close by. I love that most places can be reached on foot or bike. Very easy to connect with people even outside of the campus.

What do you do when you are not doing research?

Watching football (hopefully I can catch some live Bundesliga matches) or playing basketball.
