Film Screening and Panel Discussion: The Delivery Guy

The film “The Delivery Guy” (director. Debarun Dutta) depicts the labor struggles of delivery drivers, using Berlin as an example. In many major cities, companies like Lieferando have exploited the precarious residency and social rights of students. Meanwhile, in Göttingen and other cities, Lieferando has terminated the contracts of drivers who were previously permanently employed. The result is even more work-related stress and even lower wages. As in other areas of the low-wage sector, it is primarily people holding passports from South Asian countries who are employed. The film not only exposes these exploitative structures but also explores how the “delivery guys” are fighting back against the unreasonable demands of their daily work and organizing collectively.
