| Beschreibung | We will first recall the definition of Sobolev spaces in the Euclidean setting and focus on some of their properties. In particular we will concentrate on their algebra properties and on embedding results. We shall then introduce the notion of Sobolev spaces on nonuni-modular noncompact Lie groups associated with subLaplacians (possibly with drift). We shall investigate whether the properties of the classical Sobolev spaces hold in this general setting. The affine group of the real line will be considered in details, as a model for the general case, in order to make the presentation accessible. Similar problems can be considered for Besov and Triebel–Lizorkin spaces on Lie groups. This is based on joint works with Tommaso Bruno, Marco Peloso and Anita Tabacco.
