Inequality and Diversity in Contemporary India

Print Exhibition: CeMIS International Photo Competition 2016

In early 2016, the Centre for Modern Indian Studies called for entries to the CeMIS International Photo Competition 2016. The jury was especially looking for photos that creatively engaged with the theme "Inequality and Diversity in Contemporary India". From hundreds of entries, the jury selected 19 finalists that did just that - going far beyond the typical, cliched representations of India. The shortlisted photos were posted as an online exhibition on our facebook page, with voting open to the public. A jury prize was also named. The exhibition is part of CeMIS' India inside/out programme to bring contemporary art and culture from India to Göttingen.

Organized by the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) in cooperation with Studentenwerk at the University of Göttingen, Germany.
