Project Objectives:
The main objective of this project is to promote cooperation between EU and Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay in Higher Education. In particular, this project aims to promote the socio-economic development of these countries through Higher Education cooperation with emphasis in the thematic areas of agricultural sciences, engineering and technology, education and teacher training, medical sciences, natural sciences and social sciences, which were defined as priority areas. This project also aims to promote knowledge transfer and capacity building gained by European HEIs during their 20 years of experience within the scope of the Erasmus Program, in benefit of these countries’ Higher Education Institutions. Finally, we sought to ensure that all this will be implemented in full respect and safeguard of these countries’ cultural identity and idiosyncratic traits and characteristics.

Brief description:
To attain the objectives above mentioned we are creating a consortium of 20 HEIs: 9 from 6 EU countries (BE, DE, ES, FR, IT, PT) and 11 from Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay (7 BR, 2 UY and 2 PY), including HEIs with campuses in 15 less developed regions. 154 mobility flows have been designed to meet the project goals: 56 undergraduate for 6 months, 31 master for 20 months, 37 doctorate (17 full docs for 34 months, and 20 sandwich – 14 for 6 months and 6 for 10 months), 15 post-docs (8 for 6 months and 7 for 10 months) and 15 TS for 1 month. We are planning 127 (44 undergrad, 31 master, 30 doc, 11 post-doc and 11 TS) from BPU to EU and 27 (12 undergrad, 7 doc, 4 post-doc and 4 TS) from EU to BPU. These flows were determined in accordance with Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay’s priorities, and the selection of institutions in Europe was based on their quality and on the thematic areas on offer. The institutions in Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay were selected regarding their profile and development stage and the country socioeconomic development, not forgetting less developed regions.
