PhD candidate-Position: soil biologist

Salary: 50% german E 13, equivalent to ca. 26 k€ p.a. pre-tax
Duration: 3 +1 years contract
subjectif to final autorisation by BMBF

Location of work: EMBRAPA/UFMT Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil and University of Kiel, Germany

Activities:


  • Decomposition experiments, sample, extract and identify soil fauna in Brazilian landscapes (field sites and preserved sites). Log environmental parameters
  • Adapt models on organism-environment-relationships. Develop a regional bioindicator system for specific soil types and treatments.


Profile:


  • MSc in Ecology/soil/agronomic sciences; experiences outdoor experimental research, and geostatistical analysis of soil quality parameters are required.
  • Specific skills in Brazilian language, experiences in on-farm studies, and a commitment to team work are additional assets.
