Post-Doc-Position: Ecologist/soil scientist/agronomist
Salary: german E 13, equivalent to ca. 52 k€ p.a. pre-tax
Duration:3 + 2 years contract
Location of work: EMBRAPA/UFMT, Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil and University of Kiel, Germany
Activities:
- Perform on-farm decomposition experiments to test different organic materials for carbon enrichment of agricultural soils.
- Compare carbon and nutrient dynamics in agricultural and natural sites, assess costs and ecological sustainability of newly developped enrichment techniques in cooperation with carbiocial partners and local SME.
Profile:
- PhD in Ecology/soil/agronomic sciences; proven records of outdoor experimental research, and of geostatistical analysis of soil quality parameters are required.
- Specific skills in agro-economy, the Brazilian language, experiences in on-farm studies, and a strong commitment to application-oriented work are additional assets.
