Project PO

Public Outreach

The CRC public outreach activities aim to contribute to a sustainable energy future by energy science education. Our concept consists of exciting, entertaining and accessible experiments as part of numerous activities that initiate and foster a dialogue between society and researchers to educate our target groups in the fundamentals of energy science and research processes. We have identified the following four appropriate target groups in order to reach a broad audience and to ensure a lasting dissemination: school students, studentteachers, school teachers and the general public. Based n our previous work and experiences, we will develop specific educational offers for each target group and already established outreach activities will be updated and improved in a close collaboration between the CRC’s scientific and educational teams. These involve for example science camps, courses and high school projects for school students, teacher trainings and our participation in events or the general public. Student-teachers will play an essential role in all activities, including their development, presentation and evaluation. For the dissemination and lasting implementation, we will benefit from well-established local infrastructure as well as university and non-university collaboration partners.
