Prof. von Cramon-Taubadel was asked as an expert for the following article about the situation on the international wheat market. Although consumption is increasing more than supply, we do not have to fear a shortage.

Dr. Jessie Lins paper "The role of institutional quality on the performance in the export of coconut products" has been selected to receive the award as the best paper published in Agricultural Economics during 2020. The best paper award was established to draw attention each year to the finest work published in the journal during the preceding 12 months.

Dr. Linda Steinhübel has received one of the five prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships awarded to the University of Göttingen this year under the EU Horizon 2020 program. Her project RTSC (Rural Transformation and Structural Change) will examine trade-offs between factors that influence rural transformation processes and, specifically, decision-making by smallholder farmers in low-income countries. RTSC is a collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

January 2019
Former staff member Dr. Fazleen Abdul Fatah has been selected as a visiting researcher/scientist to the International Wheat and Maize Improvement Center (CIMMYT) Mexico last year to undergo a project on evolving food consumption patterns in selected Asia and Sub Saharan Africa countries.
