Stefanie Luther

Stefanie Luther, born in 1986, has studied German Philology, Comparative studies and Psychology at the University of Saarbrücken and Scandinavian Literature at the University of Vienna. She has graduated with a Master’s thesis on the subject of “Theory of Mind in the context of Cognitive Poetics – experiments of perception in the works of Halldór Laxness and Max Frisch”. Her PhD research project builds on this previous work and addresses questions like the following: How is Theory of Mind involved in the cognitive processes of reading fiction? Do these processes differ from those that guide social interaction in the real world, and if so, in what way are they different? And, last but not least: How might given textual parameters influence mindreading skills? Stefanie Luther holds a scholarship of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes since July 2011.
