Admission requirements for the Single and Joint Honours MA "Slavic Philology" (78/ 42 C)


  • B.A. degree or equivalent degree
  • Verification of the following is required:
    a) Academic achievement in Slavic Philology totalling at least 51 credits, including at least 13 credits each in Slavic language and Slavic literature, or
    b) Academic achievement in general linguistics, cultural science or comparable disciplines that has been conducted with a recognizable reference to the Slavic speaking region totalling at least 51 credits, including 13 credits in either linguistics or literary science.


Language requirements:
Sufficient language skills in one of the following Slavic languages: Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Polish, Russian, Czech or Ukrainian on Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (verification required).
As a rule, the verification of sufficient language skills must have been acquired no more than two years prior to submission of the application for admission to the Master's degree programme. Applicants who have spent at least nine months studying or working in a Slavic-speaking country during the three years prior to the submission of their admissions application are exempt from this requirement.
