Are you planning to come to Göttingen in the upcoming weeks for a research visit or employment?
Please get in touch with your host or hosting institute to find out if your planned research visit or employment will be affected by the current situation.
Starting on March 17, the Welcome Centre will be indefinitely closed. You are welcome to contact us by mail or phone. We will be able to respond as usual. Otherwise, our staff will work from home with limited access to university resources. Therefore processing might be delayed.

Welcome to the page of the Welcome Centre
The Welcome Centre is a service facility for internationally mobile researchers and academics at the University of Göttingen. We will gladly assist and support you in getting established and preparing for your stay here in Göttingen.
The Welcome Centre provides support, for stays of one month or longer to:
- International professors (including UMG)
- International post docs (with the exception of the Faculty of Medicine)
- International post docs and PhD students under contract with other research institutes*
We provide research, information, and targeted assistance in all non-academic matters that are important for your stay in Göttingen. You are welcome to contact us with your questions and avail yourself of our support.

*For the support of post docs and PhD students from other research institutes, please contact your own institute so that they can get in touch with the Welcome Centre.
