Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Volker Lipp is the chair of the chair for civil law, civil procedure law, medical law and comparative law.Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Lipp was also dean of the Göttingen Faculty of Law, is the founding director and member of the Center for Medical Law at the University of Göttingen, was a member of the preparatory committee and the board of the Lichtenberg Kolleg at the University of Göttingen and was also the university's representative for cooperation with the Baltic Federal Immanuel- Kant University, Kaliningrad, Russia and representative of the faculty for cooperation with the local law faculty.
In addition, he not only works at the University of Göttingen, but also has numerous guest professorships, such as at the University of Paris-Nanterre, the Universitetet i Bergen and the Chuo University in Tokyo.
