On Tuesday, September the 24th, 2019, a delegation of Chinese officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs visited the Institute for Agricultural Law of the University of Gottingen for a workshop on rural law and challenges of rural development.
Prof. Dr. José Martínez, director of the Institute for Agricultural Law welcomed and greeted Zong Jinyao, Director General of the Department of Laws and Regulations at the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Zhu Shouyin, Vice President of the Agricultural Management Institute at the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Feng Hankun, Division Director of the Department of Laws and Regulations at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yang Dongxia, Director of the Research Centre for Agricultural Law of the Agricultural Management Institute at the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Vice chairman & Secretary General of the China Association of Agricultural Law, Guo Chong, the Secretary of the Office of the Central Leading Group for Rural Affairs and Heng Aizhu of the Division of Legislation at the Department of Laws and Regulations at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
After a short introduction of the topic of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Martínez as well as lecturer and lawyer Christiane Graß talked about “Limited statehood in rural areas and legal challenges to changing care realities” and the “German Land Transfer Law”.
The delegation then met the Vice-President for International Affairs of the University, Prof. Dr. Hiltraut Casper-Hehne and visited the historical university buildings.
