Erasmus stay

The World Literature programme does not currently have its own Erasmus places.

If you are planning a semester abroad as part of the Erasmus+ programme, you should therefore first contact the department that offers literature from the country you wish to visit. For example, if you are interested in Scandinavian literature, contact the Scandinavian Studies department; if you would like to focus more on Spanish-language literature, contact the Romance Studies department.

The person responsible for this subject will tell you how to proceed with your application. As a rule, applications are submitted via the MoveOn mobility portal. The application deadline is usually 31 January.

Information on applying to the Department of Slavic Philology and exchange places for Eastern Europe can be found on the Slavic Studies website. As a rule, departments give priority to students from their own subject when allocating places, before any remaining places are allocated to students from other subjects. However, students of the World Literature programme are often treated on an equal footing with students of the department offering the place if World Literature students complete modules there.

Once you have received confirmation of your Erasmus place, you must explicitly accept it, otherwise the place will be given to another student. You will then draw up a learning agreement specifying which courses you intend to take at the host university. To ensure that all the courses you wish to take abroad will actually be recognised upon your return, you should discuss your study plan with the programme coordinator.

After your return, the programme coordinator is also responsible for recognising the credits you have earned at the partner university.

An overview of the Erasmus coordinators for the individual subjects at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities can be found here.
