I am interested in biodiversity conservation, ecology, and entomology. In my current work, I am analyzing how insect biodiversity in macadamia farms responds to the distance from semi-natural habitats, elevation, and surrounding semi-natural habitat cover. This research is part of the South African Limpopo Landscapes Network - SPACES2:SALLnet
In addition, for my Ph.D. research, I focus on the impact of land-use change on ant communities in north-eastern Madagascar. It is part of the transdisciplinary project “Diversity Turn in Land Use Science” investigating the importance of social diversity for sustainable land use innovations using the example of vanilla farming in Madagascar. I was also supported by the DAAD partnership program “Transnational exchange in land-use and biodiversity research in Madagascar” which allowed my research stay of 11 months at the Agroecology group of the University of Göttingen.
