SaySom

Video conferencing systems play a significant role in hybrid and online teaching. Through digital access, students can participate in courses from anywhere.

SaySom is a platform-based video conferencing system known for its flexibility and interactivity. The tool has an activating effect on teaching and creates new ways to digitally shape the daily teaching experience.

SaySom is being provided as part of the Co³Learn consortium project at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Leibniz Universität Hannover, and Technische Universität Braunschweig for a trial phase until December 31, 2025. You can log in using your university credentials via this link and use SaySom directly.

After the license period ends, your accounts will transition to a free account, allowing you to continue creating and using rooms for up to 20 participants. Previously created rooms will remain accessible. Starting January 1, 2026, you will be able to set your own password via the familiar link and log in in the future using your university email address and your personal password at https://saysom.app/login. Please do not use your university password as your personal password. You also have the option to delete your account yourself through the account settings if you no longer wish to use SaySom.

What is SaySom and how can I use it?

SaySom is a digital platform for virtual events. Instructors can create different areas within a room and visually structure the flow of a course (e.g., group work and presentation phases). Participants can move freely, interact with each other, and exchange ideas. This enables the implementation of innovative and interactive learning and teaching scenarios. Basic features such as a spatial chat, screen sharing, and media integration support a wide range of applications.

Possible Use Cases

Interaction
Conduct a less formal digital event in SaySom to create an environment that is as realistic as possible in terms of interaction, where students can move freely and interact with one another.

Group Work
Create various private areas to allow groups to collaborate on specific topics. After a predefined time, groups can reconfigure and move into a second phase of work.
