Information Event on Funding Programs for Early-Career AI Research Groups and Additional Funding Opportunities

You conduct research in the field of Artificial Intelligence and are considering applying for an early-career AI research group (e.g., “AI Research Groups Lower Saxony” or an AI Emmy Noether Research Group “Methods in Artificial Intelligence”) or an ERC Starting Grant?

The Campus Institute Data Science (CIDAS) at the University of Göttingen, in cooperation with various departments, invites you to a digital information event. The aim is to provide interested early-career researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence with an overview of the research environment, opportunities for cooperation, and support services at the University of Göttingen and beyond.

  • Research Environment in Göttingen:
    Presentation of the University of Göttingen, its research infrastructure, and the interdisciplinary CIDAS center.
  • Information on Funding Programs for Early-Career AI Groups and Additional Funding Opportunities:
    Overview of the programs “AI Research Groups Lower Saxony”, DFG AI Emmy Noether Research Group “Methods in Artificial Intelligence” and the ERC Starting Grants (see below for more details on the calls). Explanation of the application process supported by the University of Göttingen: timeline, required documents, deadlines, and individual support services during proposal preparation.
  • Networking with Representatives of Research Areas:
    Introduction of representatives from various research domains, such as Computer Science, Medical Informatics, or Forest Sciences, followed by the opportunity for further exchange and scheduling individual follow-up meetings.

Target Audience

The event is aimed at early-career researchers with a doctorate whose research focuses on the development and/or application of AI methods and who are considering applying to one of the presented programs.
