The ERCIS BPM Winter School from a participant's perspective
This year, the ERCIS Winter School on Advanced BPM Topics took place from January 19 to January 23 at the University of Liechtenstein in Vaduz. A total of 25 students from universities in Göttingen, Paderborn, Münster, Dortmund, and Seville had the opportunity to participate in the Winter School together in Vaduz.
For me, the ERCIS Winter School was a module that was significantly different from a typical lecture. The lectures were very interactive, with a large part consisting of practical exercises and tasks in constantly changing groups, which meant that you quickly got to know everyone. There was a very pleasant, personal atmosphere (also with the professors), which meant that as a student you were much more involved and therefore more motivated.
Of course, the aim was also to learn something. However, the exchange between students and with the professors was just as important. It wasn't typical networking, but rather normal interaction. Every day, we talked to students and lecturers over lunch. The several dinners together were also a very pleasant opportunity to chat, and the various evenings in bars were also nice. Bowling together was of course also a highlight.
For us students from Göttingen, the Winter School was an experience, both in terms of content and personally, that probably few other modules offer. We students from Göttingen therefore highly recommend participating in future years - it really is an invaluable experience!
