The Senate of the University of Göttingen has confirmed Dr Valérie Schüller’s appointment as the University's full-time Vice-President for Finance and Human Resources. The Senate voted today in favour of a second term for the 49-year-old lawyer on the recommendation of the Findungskommission (search committee). Her second term will begin on 1 April 2025, and the duration of this term will be eight years.

"Valérie Schüller has successfully led and developed two important areas, Finance and Human Resources, over recent years," said Professor Peter Strohschneider, Chair of the Findungskommission and the University Foundation Committee. "Among the challenges of her first term were two phases in which she led the University in an acting-up capacity, and the coronavirus pandemic."

University President Professor Metin Tolan said: "I am very pleased to have Valérie Schüller continue as a full-time member of the Presidential Board team and to continue the excellent cooperation with her in the coming years."
