CHE master’s rankings: degree programmes of the Faculty were ranked high in the top and middle groups

In the current ZEIT Campus magazine publication, the ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) for master’s programmes at higher education institutes, the master’s degree programmes of the University of Göttingen Faculty of Business and Economics scored excellent results in the top and middle groups.

The ranking is based on the results of a survey of all participating faculties and departments as well as master’s students, which was conducted for the CHE 2019/ 2020 rankings. As with the undergraduate study programmes (see: Strong results in the CHE 2020 university rankings for business administration, economics, and business information systems), the student population was generally very positive about the quality of their studies as well as the quality and offerings of the faculty.

In the category "support at the beginning of studies" the faculty scores in all three areas involved in the ranking in the top group. In addition, the students placed criteria such as "support during their studies", "transition to the Master's programme" and "study organization" in the top and middle groups.

In business administration and economics, the Faculty of Business and Economics also made it into the top group in the criteria "doctorates per professor", "publications per professor" and "research funds per scientist" (economics). In Business Information Systems, the Faculty can score top marks in the category "Master's degrees within the regular study period".

In the summer semester 2020, the Master students were also questioned about the (first) digital semester during the corona pandemic. More than 70 and 80 percent of those surveyed rated the criteria of the" university's information management on the current situation", "opportunities for contact and professional exchange with lecturers", "enabling students to continue and complete their studies as planned", "accessibility of central contact persons (e.g. in the examination office)", "variety of digital teaching formats" or "technical framework conditions for digital courses" as "good/very good".

The CHE university ranking is considered the most comprehensive and detailed ranking in the German-speaking world. In addition to student evaluations, there are also results on fact-based indicators such as the number of master's students at the faculty or the international orientation. Detailed information on the ranking results (in German) can be found under www.zeit.de/masterranking (registration/login required).
