Innovation pool: Funding priorities

The Innovation pool supports creative research and collaboration with the aim of making landscapes more resilient to ecological, societal, and economic change. It connects science, society, and education across two central fields of action.

One focus lies on international networking. The aim is to establish a global network on landscape resilience. Supported activities include research stays abroad for Göttingen-based researchers, invitations to international visiting scholars, international workshops, and an international closing conference.

The second focus strengthens the exchange between science and society. Research findings are to be communicated to the public in an accessible way, while impulses from practice are integrated into research. This includes events and projects at the Forum Wissen, collaborations with schools, and joint projects with forest owners, forestry stakeholders, and farmers

In addition, the innovation pool supports new ideas from students and researchers through targeted seed funding. It provides a flexible, future-oriented funding framework that enables interdisciplinary projects which often do not fit into traditional funding programs.

The Steering Committee of the Landscape Resilience Competence Centre (CLaRe) at the University of Göttingen invites motivated researchers, students, and staff to apply for the following funding priorities of the innovation pool:
