Annette E. Götz is a visiting lecturer and adjunct research scientist at the Department of Structural Geology and Geodynamics, Göttingen University, Germany. She undertook the MSc (1992) in carbonate sedimentology and micropalaeontology at Technische Universität Darmstadt, and was awarded a PhD (1995) by the same institution. She continued postdoctoral research at TU Darmstadt and Halle University, Germany. Then, Annette worked as sedimentologist and palynologist at universities in South Africa and the UK, before returning to Germany in 2020. Her broad spectrum of basic and applied research ranges from late Palaeozoic and Mesozoic palynology with a focus on palaeoenvironment and palaeoclimate reconstruction to sedimentary geochemistry and energy resources.
