Duties of the board

In particular, the board

  • is responsible for fulfilling the tasks described under § 2 of the GFA regulations,
  • decides on the use of resources directly assigned to the graduate school,
  • is responsible for the materially appropriate and legally correct management of funds,
  • develops and determines the strategic alignment of the graduate school,
  • approves the annual financial statement,
  • decides on the inclusion of doctoral programmes,
  • decides on special funding of interdisciplinary or excellent doctoral programmes,
  • decides on the award of funds,
  • passes resolutions on measures aimed at quality assurance within the graduate school,
  • prepares the rules and standards to ensure lasting quality assurance in doctoral studies,
  • designs and implements measures to promote junior researchers and foster gender equality/equal opportunities, diversity and family-friendly policies,
  • and decides on the inclusion or exclusion of members or fellows.
