Ecumenical Summer Schools
Each year, as part of the Erasmus programme, the Department of Ecumenical Theology conducts a summer school abroad, with approximately 50 students from Göttingen, Salzburg and the Middle East taking part. The most recent school, with theme “Religion and State", took place in Istanbul in October 2010 in connection with a joint programme with the local Faculty of Theology and the Sülemaniye Foundation. Also involved, among other cooperation partners, were the state religious authority of Turkey, Pro Oriente and the University of Salzburg.
A similar summer school took place in 2009 at the NEST Beirut.
