Excursions

We offer two different excursions on Wednesday afternoon. Please indicate during registration, if you would like to attend one of the two excursions. Both excursions are subject to a reasonable number of participants, and the paying arrangement will follow as soon as enough people have registered.

The excursions are on private leisure. You are not insured by the organizers of the conference.

City Tour (approx. 2h): Costs 15 €

Take part at our English-guided tour and embark on a journey that unveils the rich history and must-see spots in Göttingen's historic city centre. Explore iconic landmarks such as the Gänseliesel Fountain, University Aula, and the Karzer (former students’ prison).

Hike to the Teufelskanzel (approx. 5h, also suitable for children aged 5 and above): Costs 35 €

You will be taken by bus (40 min) to the castle ruins Hanstein. After having a closer look at the ruins, you will walk through the nature reserve Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal passing by the viewpoint rock Teufelskanzel, where you have a beautiful view over the landscape (Hiking distance 5-6 km). The hike passes by a café where coffee and cake are available at your own expense (optional). The bus will take you back to Göttingen.
